1. What are Akhil’s major achievements?

Akhil is the only Asian who got selected for the Aston Martin Academy, not once but in consecutive two years. He became first Runner up in race one as well as was the winner in the 24H Series European (GT) series at 12H Spa- Francorchamps, with 1st and 2nd runner up at 12H at Mugello and 12H at BRNO respectively. In 2012, Rabindra was the youngest finalist in the saloon car category in the Toyota Ethios Racing Series and managed a podium finish at the Exhibition Race in Chennai. In 2014, FMSCI nominated Rabindra to represent India for the FIA Institute Young Drivers Excellence Academy, where he went on to win his place for the Asia-Pacific region is another achievement to mention.

2. How did Akhil Rabindra pick up?

Akhil Rabindra started racing in National Go-Karting Championship and Formula LGB Swift in India. He won the JK Tyres MMS Rotax Max National Rookie Championship, the Vice Championship of Amaron National Karting Challenge along with Red Bull Kart Fight in 2011. Akhil made his Racing debut in 2012 with JK Tyre National Racing Championship in the LGB Formula-Swift, the entry-level single-seater series. In the JK Racing Asia Series, Rabindra finished 7th in 3 of the races. In 2012, Rabindra was the youngest finalist in the saloon car category in the Toyota Ethios Racing Series and managed a podium finish at the Exhibition Race in Chennai.

3. How has Akhil’s journey with Aston martin been so far?

In 2019, Rabindra was the only Asian to get selected for the Aston Martin Academy participated in various races including GT4 European series where he became the 1st Runner up in race 1 as well as was announced the winner in the 24H Series European (GT) series at 12H Spa- Francorchamps, with 1st and 2nd runner up at 12H at Mugello and 12H at BRNO respectively.

Rabindra also debuted in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (USA) challenge in the same year with Automatic Racing and logged his maiden IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge pole position.

4. Besides racing, what interests Akhil Rabindra?

Akhil, a graduate from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, is an avid reader and always fancies his chances for speed. An outright fitness enthusiast as well as a swagger who knows the sublime nuances of dressing for the occasion is touted to be the next youth icon of India.
