Bajaj Pulsar 250 Launched. Another 250cc Takeover by Bajaj Auto?

Bajaj Auto announced the debut of the all-new Pulsar 250 naked street bike in the Indian market on Thursday, priced at Rs.1.38 lakh (ex-showroom). The second model – F250 is priced at Rs. 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom). It is the flagship model in the company’s Pulsar line of bikes.

The new Pulsar 250 follows the same design lines as the previous Pulsar family of bikes, with features such as full LED headlamps and DRLs, projector headlamps, LED indicators and bifurcated taillights, digital instrument cluster, muscular fuel tank, split seat setup, and mono-shock rear suspension adding to the appeal of the new motorcycle.

The motorcycle retains the signature Pulsar appearance while also including a number of modern innovations. The new Bajaj Pulsar 250 is available in two models: Pulsar N250 and Pulsar F250. The Pulsar N250 is available as a naked standard model, while the Pulsar F250 is a semi-faired variant of the quarter-litre motorbike.

The new Pulsar 250 is the flagship model in the popular and iconic Pulsar family of motorcycles. It is the most powerful Pulsar ever launched by Bajaj Auto in India or anywhere else in the globe.

The liquid-cooled engine produces 24.5 PS of power and 21.5 Nm of torque. The transmission is handled by a 5-speed gearbox. For further safety, it has a 300 mm disc brake, a 230 mm rear disc, single-channel ABS, and other features. The motorcycle has 100 mm front and 130 mm rear cross-section tyres.

The new Bajaj Pulsar 250 features telescopic front forks and a single mono-shock unit at the rear. This is a significant improvement over the previous Pulsar 220F model, which featured twin shock units at the rear.

Aside from the new Pulsar 250, the Pune-based carmaker has also released the Pulsar 250F, a semi-faired variant of the bike. The latter is a new addition to the popular Pulsar 220F line. Except for the outward aesthetic alterations, the new Pulsar 250 twins share the same foundation.

The new Bajaj Pulsar 250 will sit lower in the Bajaj Auto portfolio than the existing Dominar 250 motorcycle. It is aimed towards a different group of customers.

The Yamaha FZ-25, Suzuki Gixxer, and the popular KTM 200 Duke are among the primary competitors to the new Pulsar 250.

It is now to be noted that Bajaj within its group, including Bajaj Auto, KTM, and Husqvarna has the following motorcycles within 250 cc category:
