Impact Of Motorcycle Racing On The Engine Parts We Use Today?

I came across this very informative video. It talks about how motorcycle racing has helped increase the longevity of the engines of the motorcycles we use. This video is from Cycle World Technical Editor Kevin Cameron.

And, we don’t know how much pressure our motorcycle engines go through when revved harder. Which is why the motorcycle makers continuously try to make it more reliable on various fronts.

Things to keep in mind:

  1. Higher rev is directly proportioned to higher heat inside the engine
  2. Higher heat is directly proportional to higher chances of high-speed parts failure
