Dakar Rally: What to Expect in 2023?

The 2023 Dakar Rally will undoubtedly be a thrilling occasion as participants from all over the world will once again congregate on the treacherous terrain of South America. It will be intriguing to watch if any new competitors in the various classes arise or if the top competitors from prior years can maintain their success.

The 2022 Dakar Rally was a thrilling competition that had participants from all around the globe striving for victory in many classes.

Motorcycles

Motorcycle rider Kevin Benavides from Argentina won the competition, narrowly beating out competitors Jose Ignacio Cornejo from Chile and Toby Price from Australia. Other riders also put in good performances at the 2022 Dakar Rally, including Australian Daniel Sanders who placed sixth and American Ricky Brabec who came in fourth.

Cars

By finishing slightly in front of his colleague Carlos Sainz and American driver Casey Currie, French driver Stephane Peterhansel won the vehicle category. Nasser Al-Attiyah of Qatar and Eduard Nikolaev of Russia both put up impressive performances during the 2022 Dakar Rally, finishing in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Trucks

The winner of the truck division was the Russian driver Eduard Nikolaev, who finished slightly ahead of his compatriots Anton Shibalov and Dmitry Sotnikov. Other drivers also put up impressive performances in the 2022 Dakar Rally, notably the Russian Andrey Karginov and the Dutch Martijn van den Brink, who placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
